Dear Daughter… 14 Years

Dear Daughter,

Today you turn 14 year old.  This birthday, by far, has been the hardest one for me to deal with.  We’ve survived our first year of you being a teenager.  As much as we’ve fought each other and we’ve spent bonding, I am really enjoying watching you grow and mature.  Right in front of my eyes.

As your mom, I would like to be the first to wish you a happy birthday.  I can’t believe you are already 14 years old!!  In many aspects it feels like you were just my baby girl… In some aspects it feels like it has taken us forever to get to this point.  I’m very proud of you.  I’m proud of your accomplishments and helping you through your struggles.  You are a very smart, beautiful, and independent young woman.  I’m so glad that I have had the honor of watching you grow and mature.  I’m so proud to be your mom.  I’m really honored to be a part of it.

I’m looking forward to standing next to you as the years go by. I will always be hereto love you and support you.  I’m your biggest fan sweetie and I love you so very.

♥ you,

Mom
